Child Contact Centre
Our New Child Contact Centre in Willesden North London,
will be opening in November.
We offer the following services:
Supervised Contact: is a service provided to ensure the safety and well-being of children during visits with a non-residential parent or guardian. A trained supervisor is present to oversee and monitor the interaction between the child and the visiting party. This service is typically used in cases where there are concerns about the child's safety or when a court order requires supervised visits. Usually the supervisor provides a report to either the court(CAFCAS) or Children Services.
Supported Contact:is similar to supervised contact but may involve less direct oversight. A trained professional or support worker is available to provide assistance and guidance during the visit, without necessarily being in constant supervision. It is often used when there are concerns but not a high level of risk, or when parents cannot agree on where contact should be for whatever reason.
Escorted contact: involves having a third party, such as a professional or security personnel, accompany the visiting parent or guardian during the visit with the child. This service is often used when there are safety concerns, and it provides an added layer of protection for the child.
Handover contact: refers to a service where a neutral third party, often a professional or staff member, facilitates the exchange or "handover" of the child between the residential and non-residential parent or guardian. It is meant to minimise potential conflict and ensure a smooth transition for the child.
Virtual contact: is a service that enables parents or guardians to maintain contact with their child through digital means, such as video calls or phone calls. This is often used when physical visits are not possible due to geographical distance, health concerns, or other factors. It allows for ongoing communication and connection between the child and the non-residential parent.
Indirect Contact: in the Centre takes place when the non-residential parent and child communicate by emailing or writing letters to each other. These letters are typically exchanged through the contact centre and staff may review them to ensure that the content is appropriate and safe for the child.
